Vaginal Mesh Implants: Organ Perforation, Infection and Other Side Effects
Has this Happened to You?
Statics show that women have suffered disproportionately from the effects of dangerous and defective drugs and medical devices. Too often, corporations rush to get products on the market with inadequate safety studies, or even worse, concealing known issues for the sake of making money.
Surgical Mesh Implants
According to the statistics, as many as 70,000 women have vaginal mesh devices implanted annually. Unfortunately, these devices can cause catastrophic consequences including organ perforation, chronic infections and other severe side effects. By 2011, the FDA knew of at least 2,874 adverse events and warned doctors that complications from these devices were “not rare” events. Johnson & Johnson stopped selling mesh devices in 2012, in the face of over 4,000 lawsuits.
If you or a loved one developed complications after a transvaginal mesh was implanted, you may be entitled to compensation. Recovery may include past and future medical bills, lost wages, diminished quality of life, and pain and suffering. If you are the spouse of a victim, you may be able to recover damages due to loss of spousal consortium or, if your loved one died, compensation for the loss of her companionship.
