Defective Airbag Recall

How can you learn  if your car has a defective airbag recall? It got easier on November 18, 2014 thanks to NHTSA. You can go to safercar.gov. The decision to call for a national recall of vehicles with certain Takata-made driver’s side frontal air bags is based on the agency’s evaluation of a recent driver’s side air bag failure in a vehicle outside the current regional recall area. Unless Takata and the involved manufacturers quickly agree to this recall, NHTSA will use its full statutory powers to ensure vehicles that use the same or similar air bag inflator are recalled.
